Ampersand is a company specialized in electrifying motorcycles, with the aim of reducing air and noise pollution while increasing energy efficiency. The company was founded in 2019 and launched its first model of electric motorcycle in 2020. 

With the rapid growth of the motorcycle taxi sector in Rwanda, which is an important mode of transportation for many Rwandans, the company saw an opportunity to create more sustainable and environmentally-friendly solutions. Ampersand's electric motorcycles have a range of 75 kilometers and can be recharged in less than two hours, making them more convenient for motorcycle taxis than gasoline-powered motorcycles. In addition to offering electric motorcycles, Ampersand has also created a network of electric motorcycle charging stations throughout the country, providing a convenient and affordable solution for motorcycle taxi drivers. 

By working with motorcycle taxi drivers and local communities, Ampersand strives to create sustainable and affordable mobility solutions for Rwandans, while contributing to the reduction of pollution and the preservation of the environment.
